Cualladó: Archivo / Obra
28,00€
This is the first publication to focus on Gabriel Cualladó (Massanassa, Valencia, 1925–Madrid, 2003) using materials from his archive, library, and photographic work.
It approaches Cualladó’s universe from its origins in the early 1950s, highlighting not only his work as a photographer but also as a collector, writer, and editor. His archive, consisting of mail, brochures, invitations, and other documents, as well as his remarkable library, which is unique in Spain, enables us to trace not only his trajectory but also the history and development of photography in Spain, from amateur associations to the official recognition of photography as an artistic genre. Notably, Cualladó was the first recipient of the National Photography Award in 1994.
The publication includes documents and unpublished material that offer readers a different perspective of the artist. Organized chronologically, the reader will transit through different types of documentation related to Cualladó, which alternates with his body of work. This tour demonstrates his significant impact on the Spanish context and his ability to establish connections within the international scene.
